CAA Council appoints
The Confederation of African athletics (CAA) took the opportunity of the 27th edition of its Congress (9th – 10th October 2017 in Skhirat, Morocco) to appoint Mauritius Vivian GUNGARAM as African member of the IAAF. He thus replaced Kenya’s David Okeyo who is serving a suspension further to doping matters and embezzlement of funds allocated to Kenya Athletics and provided by Nike. Vivian Gungaram is the CAA vice-president and Director of the HPTC Mauritius which is in charge of combined events.
GeneralJackson Tuwei, CAA Council member
The Congress of Skhirat also appointed General Jackson Tuwei, the president of Athletics Kenya as member of the CAA Council. He thus succeeds to his compatriot David Okeyo.
Aziz Daouda and Beatrice Ayikoru, Development Coordinators
Other important nomination is that of Moroccan Aziz Daouda and Uganda’s Beatrice Ayikoru as coordinators of the technical development of the CAA.
