Kiprotich sets 2nd career best time at the marathon

Fukuoka, Japan – December 3rd, 2017

Seasoned marathoner; Stephen Kiprotich rounded off the year in style with another 2nd place finish at the Fukuoka Marathon. The venue is becoming one of the favourites for the 28 year old after he set his second career marathon finish in a time of 2:07:10 on Sunday. His best time remains 2:06:33 set in 2015 at the Tokyo Marathon.

 

Sunday’s run, however, produced some stunning performances from Norwegian Sondre Nordtad Moen, who not only won but set a new European Marathon record 2:05:48. 

Athletics body mourns the passing on of Mr. Godfrey Nuwagaba

It is with great sorrow that we express the passing on of our Treasurer, Mr. Godfrey Nuwagaba. Godfrey has been a distinguished gentleman who has nurtured several talents through the Sport of Athletics; contributing to their career development and education with Standard High School, Zzana.

Godfrey was not ill. He was very well in good health, jolly and going on with his daily life and businesses. This occasion therefore comes to most of us as a great shock!

Uganda leads medal count haul with 6 @ the 33rd World Mountain Running Championships

The streets of Premana, Italy were abuzz this past weekend for the 33rd World Mountain Running Championships. Known for its cutlery factories, it was ironic that the athletes representing nearly 40 countries were also sharpening their skills and techniques as they prepared for the rugged terrain they would experience in this championship event during the few days leading up to the competition.
